Last weekend was the 8th Annual Emerald City ComiCon, and Micro Brew Comics was smackdab in the middle of it!
Sharing a booth with our longtime collaborator Rorschach Entertainment, the Micro Brew Comics crew rolled out with all of our recent goals met. The Adventures of Doctor Zombie #3? Present and accounted for! Steve Lawlis: Zombieville #2? You bet! Exclusive ECCC art prints? They rocked the house! Oh, and we had some Doctor Zombie t-shirts for the kids, too.
We even had our Modern Pulp (our other imprint — check out the post we made there!) books ready to go, as we debuted the final issue of Sprecken: Kalabus Rex and the brand new Dallas McCoy book.
The booth was manned by Amy Riddle (writer of Dallas McCoy), Mackenzie Meredith, and Erik Thompson, as well as a couple of spare hands from some loyal interns. I was in and out of the booth all weekend, as my job with ECCC kept me very busy.
The show itself was crazy! Saturday was insanely busy, to the point that you could barely walk around. Sunday was more relaxed, but still busy throughout the entire day. The 2010 exclusive prints did very well; we only have a few left. The new books did well, too. As always, Doctor Zombie was a big hit.
With this convention in the bag, we are planning on several more appearances this year, with hopefully Stumptown in Portland as our next stop. After that, we will be guests of Creators Edge at the upcoming Crypticon in June. Following that, we will be at the new Jet City Comic Show. More on this later…
